Stress!

Stress is often considered an inevitable part of life in our fast-paced world.

However, the role that chronic stress has on our brain and heart health can’t be overlooked.

While stress developed as an evolutionary way for us to respond to outside threats, like bears and tigers, now we can experience chronic stress due to things like mental health issues or work-related issues.

This chronic stress can negatively impact our health by triggering a series of bodily responses, like increased blood pressure.

Adjusting to life after a stroke can be incredibly stressful and impact your recovery. If you deal with chronic stress, first, try to be kind to yourself. Then recognize that in order to manage stress better, we have to understand what stresses us out and then make a plan!
